Nigeria Prepares to Host Global Antimicrobial Resistance Conference

Nigeria is scheduled to host the 5th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance in Abuja from December 6 to 8, 2026. The gathering will bring together international health, agriculture and environmental stakeholders to strengthen coordinated action against antimicrobial resistance, which threatens treatment effectiveness, food safety and animal health.

Hospitals, laboratories and public health agencies require integrated surveillance systems, diagnostic data analytics and secure research infrastructure to monitor emerging health risks.
